Vaccine Syndrome

Since I was discharged from the military I have always felt the shots I received while on active duty made me ill.  I had chronic fatigue, and joint pain/issues.  I saw Vaccine Syndrome this week and I realized I am not alone.   A friend sent me a link to a Mercola article called Vaccine-Deficient Employees Fired to Gain Healthcare Funding.  I was quoted in this article that shows hospitals might say they mandate flu Read More …

Essentia Health in the News

Minnesota Public radio aired a segment about Essentia Health’s mandatory flu shot policy.   “About 300 employees of Duluth-based Essentia Health could lose their jobs for refusing to comply with the company’s new mandatory flu shot policy. “Monday is the deadline for the company’s 15,000 employees to get the vaccine, or receive a medical or religious exemption. Essentia says 98 percent have complied. “Scot Harvey is not one of them. Harvey, who lives outside Chisholm Read More …

Is Your Freedom Worth Fighting For?

Veterans Day has just passed. A day when we stop and think about the sacrifices the men and women in the military have made to secure the freedoms we enjoy. I ask you, was such a great sacrifice worth it? Sure! Every Veterans Day we try and tell the veterans we know, “Thank you for your sacrifice.” Do our actions speak louder than our words?   Essenia Health made a new policy two months ago Read More …

Mandatory Flu Shot

Union’s flu shot motion denied; Essentia Health mandate still set to take effect on Monday   That was the headline for an article in the Duluth News Tribune this morning.  A Judge denied the United Steelworkers Union’s request to block the firings.   It bothers me that in September a hospital can change a policy to require a flu shot and one can be fired in November if you cannot comply.  (I am in Nursing Read More …

Veteran Fired For Not Getting Shot

I remember growing up in the 1980s. At that time the Soviet Union was the biggest threat to our freedom. I remember hearing stories about some poor worker who lost his job or home because of some petty offense and thought, “How lucky I am to live in America where that would never happen.”   I joined the military in June of 1990 because I wanted to protect the freedoms that I hold so Read More …

Proud to be an American

Every Veterans Day I listen to this song by Lee Greenwood and It brings tears to my eyes.  I was in the Military but never saw combat.  I am smart enough to realize that I will never be able to comprehend the magnitude of the sacrifice of those men and women who have stood in combat to protect the freedoms that I often take for granted here in America.   If tomorrow all Read More …

Garden Seeds Mushroom Photos

Miriam started her second year of online school with Blue Sky School on September 5th. For PE she needs to do different physical activities or exercises for so many hours in a week. After she had spent most of the day inside setting up her school area and doing online school work, I came in and told her I found some cool mushrooms I wanted her to come out and take pictures of for me. The Universe Beneath Our Feet

Here is a pod cast that talks about the life in the soil.  There are millions of living things in the soil that are working to help the plants we see above the ground grow.  We can not live without the fungi, bacteria, etc. in the soil.  There is a food web in the soil that consists of the fungi, bacteria, and the roots of plants all working together to feed each other.     Read More …

Agroforestry

Agroforestry is the combining of trees and shrubs with the raising of other crops or animals.  The USDA Agroforestry page says that in order for a farming system to be considered Agroforestry it needs to be intentional, intensive, integrated and interactive.  There are several different Agroforestry farming methods.   Silvopasture is growing trees in the pasture.  The trees are spread out so that the pasture grasses will still grow.  The cows and other animals that Read More …

Is Mycelium the Central Nervous System of the Forest?

Many leaves make one tree.  They are all connected and work together via the stems and branches of the tree.  What if something connected all the plants in the forest in a similar way?  I hypothesize that mycelium is actually the central nervous system of the forest.  Mycelium grows in and around the roots of the different plants I hypothesize that mycelium not only coordinate the sharing of nutrients between the different plants, they also Read More …
